Orchestra Directors

 

Ben Rezaeinia is a violinist and orchestra director in the metro Atlanta area.  He is beginning his 17th year teaching and 8th year teaching in Gwinnett County Public Schools. He currently serves as Orchestra Director at Duluth High School and Lead teacher for Gwinnett County High School Orchestra. Before his appointment at Duluth High School, Mr. Rezaeinia was the director at Norcross High School. While at Norcross, he served as the International Bachelorette coordinator to the Fine Arts. Mr. Rezaeinia served as Orchestra Director at Tapp Middle School in Cobb County prior to teaching in Gwinnett County Schools. During this time, he served as the West District coordinator for 6th grade Jamboree.  During Mr. Rezaeinia’s teaching career, his groups have consistently received superior ratings at performance evaluations and has been invited to perform at various inventions through the state of Georgia.

 

Mr. Rezaeinia holds a master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting and a bachelor’s degree in music education from Georgia State University (GSU). While at GSU, Mr. Rezaeinia served as the Manager of Orchestras and guest conducted several Symphony concerts as well as organizing and conducting a concert series of full orchestral literature. While completing his undergraduate degree, Mr. Rezaeinia served as liaison between future music education majors and the GSU School of Music Out Reach Program.

 

Mr. Rezaeinia has served as guest conductor in several schools and community orchestras around the state of Georgia. He has also served as a sectional coach to many local schools and orchestras. As well as conducting, Mr. Rezaeinia has also performed in local orchestras on his primary instrument, the violin, as principal violinist.

 

Mr. Rezaeinia currently resides in Roswell, GA with his husband, daughter, and loving pets. 

 

 

 

Dr. Kinsey Edwards

 

Dr. Kinsey Edwards is a Gwinnett County Public Schools alumna.  She attained her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Music Education, from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. She earned her Masters of Music Education and Educational Doctorate from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.  Since beginning her teaching career in Gwinnett County sixteen years ago, Dr. Edwards participated in the Gwinnett County Teachers as Leaders cohort in 2012, she was selected as Teacher of the Year at Lanier Middle School and one of Gwinnett County's top 25 Semi-finalists in that same year, and then was selected as Teacher of the Year at Crews Middle School and one of Gwinnett County's top 25 Semi-finalists for a second time in 2020. She has presented at the Georgia Music Educators Association Convention and the National Association for Music Education Research Conference.  Dr. Edwards conducted the Oconee County District Honor Orchestra in Walhalla, South Carolina in 2011, and the GMEA District 3 Honor Orchestra clinic in 2012.  She has organized for GMEA All State Orchestra for two years and in 2017, she was asked to conduct a piece with the Middle School All State Orchestra under the guidance of string pedagog and composer, Richard Meyer.  Dr. Edwards has been published in the Georgia American String Teachers Association Newsletter, Georgia Music News, and in The Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education. She resides in Buford, Georgia with her daughter Ansley, and husband, Dr. Andy Edwards, who is the Orchestra Director at First Redeemer Church in Cumming, Georgia.
